Silence, the police are on their "campaign"

The whole city is talking about it. The Fez police are on a campaign. It is therefore necessary to postpone all misconduct until the end of the "hamla". Motorcyclists without helmets, night wanderers, enthusiasts of a drink at the end of the evening, couples looking for stolen moments are paying the price for a year of laxity. The major crossroads of the city are experiencing a concentration of a team of police officers, doing their job... but in an exceptional way. And as in any "hamla", there are also victims who must bear the weight of the moment and prove that the "campaign" policy is in no way the solution to the problems hindering the security management of any city. Tuesday evening, a young married couple was about to get out of their car near the Massira (Addoha) district. They were surprised to be surrounded by two police vans.

The commissioner in person intervened on the side where the lady was sitting. He grabbed her, pulling her outside. He justified his ugly gesture by the fact that he was afraid that the "lady would flee the scene of the crime"! Injured and offended, the young husband attempted a burst of dignity... which earned him a punishment. "Outrage to a public official in the exercise of his duties", "driving under the influence of alcohol", (although the car was already parked in front of their building)... The members of the couple's family, who had come out in a hurry, wanted to explain that it was certainly a misunderstanding, and that the couple was married...

The police officers are convinced that their "boss" was touched in his self-esteem. He has the right to act this way. The young husband does not have the right to challenge him on his behaviour. The rest of the story is, of course, known. The young man spent the night at the police station. He declared having left 1700 DH there while the State collected 1150 DH.
