The 2nd World Congress of Researchers in Holy Quran Sciences will be held from April 11 to 13 in Fès, around the theme "in the service of text and terminology in Quranic studies".
An initiative of the Foundation for Scientific Research and Studies, this meeting follows a first congress that brought together researchers, academics, and Oulèmas from all over the world on the theme of the biography of the Prophet Sidna Mohammed.
During this 2nd edition, organised in partnership with the Rabita Mohammadia of Oulèmas, the Institute of Conceptual Studies, and the Centre for Quranic Studies, the aim will be to cross-reference the multiple studies, projects, and expertise of the researchers present and, from there, launch new fields of reflection regarding the treatment of terminology and text in Quranic studies.
The moment will be propitious to insist, once again, on the importance of the assimilation by new generations of the advances made throughout the history of the Islamic Oumma.
The sub-themes that will be submitted for debate will focus, among other things, on the objective explanation of Quranic terminology, the structural and conceptual study of the Quranic text, and the contribution of new technologies to the study of the Holy Book.
In parallel, the meeting provides for reflection circles on manuscript heritage, glossaries of Holy Quran terms, and indexing issues. They will bring together well-known and recognised researchers from Arab and Islamic universities.
Created in 2007, the Foundation for Scientific Research and Studies sets itself the objectives of encouraging scientific research, building bridges between researchers of different disciplines, launching scientific studies and research, and promoting exchanges between national and international research centres and organisations.
